Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
This July I’ll form part of a 150 strong team of other dedicated cyclists cycling from London to Paris. I’ll be in the saddle for around seven hours a day for four days.
Why am I doing this, I hear you ask?! It’s to raise money for Christian Aid, an international development agency doing much needed work in deprived counties around the world. As you may know, at the end of last year I was a victim of the ‘credit crunch’. As well as looking for new work during my time off I visited Central Africa (Rwanda, Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo) to see for myself as a supporter of Christian Aid where my money was going. On my 6 week trip I visited many projects funded by them, including training people on how to grow more food and building HIV/AIDS awareness. I was very impressed how the money was used and what was being achieved! For me, and maybe you too, it’s hard to relate to ‘real’ poverty and hardship so seeing my little contribution actually doing something worthwhile was a real privilege. I therefore decided that I’d like to go the extra mile (300 of them in fact!!) and raise some additional funding for the organisation in these troubled economic times.Christian Aid is a development agency that aims to eradicate poverty around the world.
