Story
To celebrate the fact that I haven't broken a bone for a while I am running this year's London Marathon!
I am delighted to be running it for the Spinal Injuries Association, a fantastic organisation that helps thousands of people with spinal injuries through treatment, therapy and care.
Being an amateur jockey, this is a subject quite close to home for me and many other jockeys (amateur and professional). Those connected with horse racing will probably know someone or know of someone affected by a spinal injury. Horse racing is a brilliant sport but it is easy to forget when you are cheering on your horse that it is also an extremely high-risk sport for those who participate.
I would be extremely grateful if you would consider donating to SIA via my Just Giving page in support of me doing the London Marathon. With all my old broken bones (ankle, hip, wrist, thumb, vertebrae and two collarbones), I think the 26 miles is going to be painful! But if I raise enough money it will all be worth it. Oh what a martyr I am!
Many many thanks
Hannah
