This year our Dad, Rob, would have turned 50, and instead of having cake we're getting our running shoes on to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in his memory as part of the Great Manchester Run 2015. (And afterwards I guess we might have that cake).
Dad was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 1996, and though we don't know a lot about the science behind the disease we did see first hand the impact it has on individuals and their families. In August 1999, having lost most of his speech and mobility (but never his smile), Dad passed away aged 34.
2014/15 has seen a lot of awareness and publicity for motor neurone disease, which has hopefully highlighted just how horrendous it is. As of today, there is still no treatment and no cure.
We (Hannah especially) hate running, but we hate MND more, and we'd really appreciate your support. Your donation will not only fund research into a cure, but will also allow the Motor Neurone Disease Association to support families just like ours.
