St. Gemma's Hospice provides specialist medical and nursing care to local people with life threatening illnesses, predominantly cancer. Based in Moortown, Leeds, St. Gemma's is the largest hospice in West Yorkshire and cares for over 1000 people and their families each year.
As lots of you know, one of our girls Karen passed away peacefully in St. Gemmas on Tuesday 12 August 2008. Her loving family & her friends found much comfort staying / visiting Karen at St Gemma's knowing that she was cared for in such a special way and Karen herself found solace in being there in her last weeks. Karen was a fighter and tried with such strength and determination to battle, but sadly passed away.
We have all been so touched by how strong Karen was & the fight that she gave, we decided we wanted to give something back to St Gemma's. In memory and by way of showing Karen how much she & other people who we've lost to cancer meant to us, we are doing the Jane Tomlinson 10k run on 21 June 09. Please sponsor us to help other cancer sufferers get the chance to benefit from such a dedicated and wonderful organisation in the future.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us : St. Gemma's Hospice gets your money faster and if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Anyone who knew Karen, knows what a special girl she was & that special smile which will be remebered in our hearts
Many Thanks for your support and Contributions
