I am going to be taking part in the Run to the Beat half marathon on 5th October ... The 13 mile marathon takes place as part of a music festival which forms the basis of an experiment - to test Dr Karageorghis' theory that running or exercising to music can improve performance by up to 20%.

I have chosen to run this marathon for Leukaemia Research Fund who specialise in researching blood cancers and disorders. 110,000 people, children and adults, are living with such cancers today. 24,500 people are newly diagnosed with one of these conditions every year.  The Leukaemia Research Fund are constantly seeking to improve diagnosis of blood disorders and treatments for patients, and to find a cure for blood cancers.
