Story
As some of you may know, I broke my back in an accident in Australia on April fools day 2004 (yes, I know!!). I was taken 200 miles by air ambulance to Townsville on the Barrier Reef Coast, and after a few days was then transferred, again by air ambulance, 800 miles south to a specialist spinal injuries unit at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. I was extremely lucky not to have been paralised, and the treatment I received both in Australia and at home in Llandough Hospital, Cardiff was exceptional.
I have decided that I would like to do something for people that weren't as fortunate as me. So on the 25th June 2008 my sister and I will be setting off from London to Paris on a sponsored bike ride (a push one not a motorcycle!), and hope to arrive in Paris on the 29th.
We are required to raise at least £1000 each for the charity and this is hopefully where you may be willing to help. W would very much appreciate any support you are able to provide.
Many thanks in anticipation of your support,
Sian and Gwennan Harries.
P.s We will be catching the ferry across the channel and not cycling on the bottom of the sea with snorkles- as many of my pupils think we are!!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Spinal Research will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
