Rwanda has experienced steady growth since the 1994 genocide, but for many, life remains a struggle. Children are especially vulnerable and 1 in 5 children grow up without one or both of their parents, and 1 in 10 children die before its fifth birthday. (A country brief can be found here)

In September, we will be travelling in a group of 15 people to Rwanda with the charity Save The Children UK, a UK charity which has been working in Rwanda since 1994. We will be visiting a school, organizing a football match for children, and shadowing community health workers as they make their rounds to rural villages promoting correct child care practices. We will then decide to which project the donations will go. Collectively we aim to raise more than £40,000.

Your donation will go exclusively to the charity's work in Rwanda, to projects we will travel to, see with our own eyes and work with over the week we are there.
