Hello and Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have worked for When You Wish Upon a Star since 2003 and over the past 7 years I have been very privileged to meet so many incredible children. I have gained an insight into their arduous journeys which has both warmed and broken my heart.  At When You Wish Upon an Star we grant Wishes for children suffering from life threatening illnesses in a hope that we can bring some happiness at a very difficult time. Wishes are varied and over the years I have had the pleasure in attending some Wishes including taking a budding young chef to meet Gordon Ramsay, taking a 13 year old girl and her best friends in a limo on a shopping trip to London and taking an 8 year old to meet his WWF Wrestling hero, not forgetting our annual trips to Lapland to meet the real Father Christmas. Each Wish brings with it an opportunity to look forward to something very special, to forget about their painful treatments and to simply be a child for the day. A Wish creates a lifetime of treasured memories for the child and their family. Having seen the profound impact the experience has on the whole family it is essential that despite the challenging economic times these brave children can continue to have their dreams fulfilled.

Like many charities we have been effected by the current economic climate, however, everyday we continue to receive Wishes from children throughout the U.K so it is vital that we continue to raise funds to ensure that, despite these difficult economical times, we can continue to make the special Wishes come true bringing smiles, laughter and a little magic to the lives of these very brave children.

I am always inspired by the wonderful things people do to raise money for our charity and thought it was about time I did something challenging myself so I will be walking The Great Wall of China (which will be a huge challenge as I don’t even walk to the local shops!) Luckily I have a few months to train.
