Story
Hello hello
Well, given that the four horsemen of the financial apocalypse are currently trotting through the city, it's probably not the best time to be asking you to splash your cash around like a drunken sailor on shore leave.
As such, am mindful that I really ought to give you a few good reasons to sponsor me - so here goes:
1) Cancer
By now you'll know that one in three of us is in the line of fire.
2) Cancer Research UK
A truly amazing charity. Their work is realising incredible results. And they achieve these results with extraordinary efficiency; if you give, they will use their money very wisely & effectively.
3) Aides Tandy
I'm doing this in memory of Aides Tandy - a friend since school; an extraordinary, potty-mouthed force of nature; and someone who, once you've met, is impossible to forget. Undoubtedly, he'd be telling me I was f******* mad for doing this, but I know he'd also be behind me. (Not least, because I could run faster than him.)
4) An Easy Life
Because until you do, I'll be your worst red-faced, relentlessly sanctimonious, charity fundraising, tight-shorted, shiny jogging vest clad (and rather dashing) sweaty nightmare.
5) My Pain; Your Pleasure
(No, not in a naughty way.) But this is going to hurt me. A lot. And I will happily furnish all those who sponsor me with some quiet extraordinary facial expressions at about the 23 mile mark..
Now come along - your money's earning no interest anyway - let's put it to some good use..
Thanks a million (if I've convinced you, that is - otherwise, please just contact me directly for some really quite desperate one-on-one grovelling.)
Much love
Hector
