Karin was like a sister to me, we met at school when we were five. We were both only children with German parents who likewise were the best of friends. We shared many happy childhood memories. Living near to each other in Frankfurt in our twenties we remained close and our friendship continued as our paths eventually took us back to the UK. Life became difficult for Karin when in her thirties she developed ME and in her latter years struggled with cancer.  Sadly, Karin passed away on my birthday last year. She had a wonderful spirit and I am so grateful to have known her and miss her so much.  To honour that friendship and in memory of her wonderful personality I am running a half marathon in Germany which was so much a part of our lives. As a member of Friends of The Earth, Karin's wish was for us all to look forward to a better future.  I hope you will help me contribute to this aim with your kind donation.
