Story
I am sitting in a hotel in Dublin. I am waiting for families who live here to come to me. These families live in the hotel. Families of 5 and 6 in a single hotel room. They have no cooking facilities or a microwave to sterilise bottles for their newborn baby. Their 5 year old is malnourished and only eats chips from the local take away - he hasn't started school yet because they have no transport to get him there. The 3 year old is not reaching her developmental milestones due to lack of stimulation, play space for toys.
at least they have a roof over their head.
Homelessness can mean sleeping rough, staying in emergency hostels or shelters, staying in temporary bed and breakfast accommodation or staying with friends and relatives when there is nowhere else to
The Simon Communities throughout Ireland provide the best possible care, accommodation and support for people experiencing homelessness and those at risk.
So far our 26 dancers have raised over €5000 for this cause. If you can spare any amount big or small every cent helps.
Thank you
