Story

Our oceans need your help. As COVID-19 spreads, one aspect is never mentioned: its devastating effects it will have on our oceans. Even £1 means a lot and we are extremely grateful for every little donation. By donating and raising awareness, you are directly helping to preserve the fascinating beauty of our oceans.

Our oceans suffer severely from plastic and other forms of toxic waste–and one such form is medical waste. The sudden dramatic increase in the usage of medical resources and plastic will overwhelm the delicate and precious ecosystems of our seas. In addition, the lack of regulations due to the lack of navies and coastguards present will also be exceptionally detrimental; and this is how we can fight for the situation to be better.

We chose Oceana as it is the largest international advocacy organisation dedicated solely to ocean conservation. Oceana is rebuilding abundant and biodiverse oceans by winning science-based policies worldwide.

With over "200 victories that stop overfishing, habitat destruction, pollution and killing of threatened species like turtles and sharks", Oceana's campaigns are delivering promising results.

The team consists of Phelps Tin, Joseph Olagundoye, Alexander Rassmuson, Saxon Stacey and Vimal Kamath. We are going to row 1.5 million metres (1500km) on the rowing machine in one month.
