First things first, thanks for visiting my page and just to let everyone know that donating through JustGiving is totally secure and your donations made here will go straight through to the charity I have chosen, CERCOPAN. 

So why donate? There are 144 monkey lives at risk! 

For many years, CERCOPAN in Nigeria has been working to protecting rainforest and rehabilitating primates rescued from the bushmeat, illegal wildlife and pet trades. Currently in their care they have 144 monkeys including some threatened species. They have just launched an emergency appeal. As detailed on their Facebook page 'a primary donor for the past several years has been unable to support us for more than 12 months now, and therefore, grants that required matching funds have been withdrawn. Without this income, CERCOPAN has no option but to close its rescue centre - placing all of our monkeys at risk'.

Financial support is urgently needed to feed and care for the 144 monkeys, and funding is also needed to implement a plan that aims to phase out the main rescue facility and to implement a conservation programme to release some monkey species into protected forest in Cross River State. CERCOPAN has taken key steps to reduce expenditures to ensure that all money is going the critical needs of primate care. They are also seeking to manage the forest site and primate reintroduction program.

BUT this all takes money, money they don't have! So I am here, begging everyone to donate, even if it's a tiny bit, every bit helps! CERCOPAN and these monkeys desperately need and deserve our help, so please please give what you can!
