This page is all about raising funds for the 5 month old cheetah Atheno. At only a few weeks old, Atheno’s mother died on a remote farm in Namibia. Luckily Atheno was rescued. He now lives a happy life at the Harnas Wildlife Foundation, a welfare and rehabilitation center in Namibia dedicated to the conservation and protection of the African wildlife. But this cute cub is growing fast and soon enough he needs a large, natural habitat where he can run free.
A new enclosure to run free
According to the Namibian law the minimum size for an enclosure is one hectare per large carnivore (as a cheetah). Harnas would love to give him even more! Building such a large enclosure gives Atheno the opportunity to live a relatively free life. It will not only help him to stay fit and healthy, but also increases his chance of being released into an 8000 hectare Lifeline nature reserve. Once he is moved into the Lifeline nature reserve, his enclosure will then be used for further animals in the program. To build the enclosure and turn this dream into reality about 4000 to 8000 euro is needed for fences, poles and electrification, a waterhole, etc. Therefore, as you can imagine, any help towards this enclosure would be extremely welcome.

Volunteered with Harnas in November 2011 and was touched by Atheno and the genuinity of Harnas. Being able to support this magnificent creature makes me very happy :-)
