Swim for Henry's 2nd Birthday. · 11 August 2017

Aching Arms, bringing comfort after loss. We bring hope and comfort to bereaved parents' aching arms by giving a teddy bear to hold. Each bear, is given in memory of another precious baby's life lost too soon and is a gift with love from one family to another.

Story

Hiya :) Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm raising money for Aching Arms in memory of my little boy Henry, who was born asleep on the 16th August 2015 at 2.53am in Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

I have organised a sponsored swim, and I will be swimming the number of lengths that Henry was alive for/when he was born asleep. Henry was delivered at 21 weeks & 5 days, so that would be equivalent to 152 lengths, this will be done in a morning or an afternoon, not in a set time but as fast I can. Date is TBC but looking at the week commencing the 4th September 2017. There will be photos and live feeds.

I would like to raise this money for Aching Arms, this will give families a bear in Henry's memory to hold during good times, bad times and whenever they feel like they need a cuddle. It is something special that they can keep forever. The bears are usually distributed in Hospitals, when a family have suffered a loss. As a break down £10 covers the cost to donate a bear. Parents can also request a bear up to 2 years later as well, and Aching Arms will then post this out to the family via Royal Mail which stands at £2.90 at the moment.

I would love it if I could get lots of sponsorships for my swim to raise some money for an amazing charity, and if you could sponsor me please this would be absolutely fantastic. Every penny counts, it doesn't matter how little or how much you can donate. Everything will go towards the grand total.

Depending on how much money is raised, the Bears will be split between multiple hospitals, the first hospital is Chesterfield Royal as that's where Henry was born. I'm hoping to go and deliver the bears that are in his memory as well with the relevant co ordinator, which would be amazing.
