Cycling 8848 metres... up! · 20 June 2015

Wheels for Wellbeing encourages and supports disabled people to cycle. We run regular cycle sessions using a wide range of 2,3 and 4 wheeled cycles and provide 1-1 lessons for people who want to learn to ride a bicycle or improve their skills so they can ride on the road with confidence.

Story

I'm planning to cycle up Bowden hill, near Lacock, 72 times. Each climb is 123m, so over the course of the ride I'll accumulate 8848m of climbing, which is the height of Mt Everest. I've never tried this before, but it sounds fun!  :-)

The reason I'm doing it is to raise money for Wheels For Wellbeing. I'm fortunate to be able to enjoy the many benefits of cycling regularly and I believe that feeling of freedom and wellbeing should be available to everyone, regardless of ability. Wheels For Wellbeing provide opportunities and bikes for people who might otherwise find cycling impossible.
