Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Ok so it turns out i am a bit of a big girl and my balls aren't as big as i thought they would be!!

I bottled out of doing it forwards at the last minute as i was hanging off the edge of the 480ft building looking at how far away the ground was from me! So at the last miute they had to turn me around so i could do it the normal way!

As you will see form the photo i did wear the special shoes which i think helped me get down in one piece. :-)

In the past i have tried to turn my hand to physical challenge that involve lots of blood sweat and tears! As most of you know i have just returned from cycling in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and last year i ran the Melbourne marathon so i think it will take a lot for me to beat these and choose something that will top this for next year!

Until then, i have decided to change my tact and scare the absolute crap out of myself! i know what a lot of you are thinking 'she does all those silly circus things so wont be scared of much' but the Guys Abseil is actaully new levels of fear!

This abseil is my nemisis! I have worked on it for years and the only reason i am entertaining the idea is because they are cladding the building so no o ne will be able to do it ever again after this year!

It is 480ft which is about 50 floors which is about 50 times as high as the flying trapeze platform at cirus school and about 5 times as high as the average abseil.  It is also going to take about 15mins which is a hell of a long time to be hanging that far in the air!

To make it even harder, as long as the weather permits i will be trying to complete this face first (see the photo at top of page) which i dont' mind admitting makes me feel physcally sick everytime i think about it!

Please please sponsor me so that i cannot wriggle out of this on the day! And also help Marie Curie provide end of life care to people at a time when it is really important . Me and my family know how important this care is and i can assure you your money will make a difference to people accross the UK. £20 will pay for an hours care...
