Our aim to to raise £50000.00 a year

We have been astounded by the range of fundraising initiatives members of our community have come up with. From concerts to tray bakes, duck races to triathlons we have seen it all which all goes to show how possible it is to have great fun whilst raising money for a great cause.

We raise funds locally and pass them to Dementia UK who arrange for Honiton to have our own nurse. The specialist dementia nurse is based at Honiton Hospital and works very closely with the NHS and Social Services teams and our GP's.  When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them, giving the one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions people need.  The unique dementia expertise and experience an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline - it helps families to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.

Dementia Friendly Honiton brings together groups and organisations from across our community that are committed to transforming the lives of people with dementia and their carers.  Dementia Friendly was named by the Alzheimer's Society "Dementia Friendly Rural Community of the Year" 2016/17 for the range and depth of their work and in 2019 was honoured with The Queens Award for Voluntary Services.
