Hovertravel are now full supporters of the Isle of Wight's only hospice, Earl Mountbatten Hospice. Hovertravel are working with the Hospice to try and get even more walkers in 2014 to sign up for the annual Walk the Wight event which takes place on the 11th May. Last year, Hovertravel’s HoverWalkers team raised over £2000 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice! 

The Earl Mountbatten Hospice is an independent charity providing comprehensive end-of-life healthcare for the Isle of Wight community. They support and care for people living with and dying from a life-limiting illness. Earl Mountbatten Hospice provides a range of services to patients and families. After receiving a grant for a third of its running costs, The Earl Mountbatten Hospice still relies on the generosity of the public to raise over £2million each year to allow them to provide the services for which they are renowned.

 

Hovertravel staff have registered themselves in a team called 'HoverWalkers', and management have confirmed a day off work for the team. 

Hovertravel is also further supporting the event by:

 

- Adding extra services to the timetable on 11th May, in order to bring walkers over from the mainland. Earlier services will run at 0630, 0730 and 0830 from Southsea.

- Offering discounts to Walk the Wight customers. Mainland walkers can receive a 50% discount on adult & child singles, period returns and day returns for the event using the promo code WTW14 for walker.
