Story

Thank you for your support!! I'm dusting off the running shoes and doing my bit to raise money for the BHF, the UK's cardiovascular disease charity. Some information on the BHF The BHF is the nation's heart charity. Their vision is a world where people don't die prematurely from heart disease. They aim to achieve this through pioneering research, vital prevention activity and ensuring quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease. In 2009, over 180,000 people died from cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the UK - one in three of all deaths. 45,000 of these deaths were of people under 75. In 2009, around 1 in 5 male deaths and 1 in 8 female deaths were from coronary heart disease (CHD) - a total of around 82,000 deaths. Stroke caused over 49,000 deaths in the UK. CVD is one of the main causes of death in people under 75 in the UK. 28% of premature deaths in men and almost 20% of premature deaths in women were from CVD in 2009. The BHF is a great charity, and from the figures it is clear that few people in the country will be unaffected by CVD, either directly or indirectly. So if you can, please donate towards their great work. Thank you. Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
