The race took place on the coldest day of the year so far.  Snow on the ground on the highest parts of the course. 

Chris gave the tortoises an early lead but blew it on the first hill.  However a sprint in his last mile meant he was able to hand over a massive 100 yard lead. 

Warren soon turned this into a 200 yard lead but quickly hit the wall.  He kept Paul in his sights until he had to divert to McDonalds for a comfort break which at the end of his section left Phil with a mile to make up.

Up to this point Paul had maintained a consistent pace but now the hare was becoming the tortoise! 

Phil got to within 100 yards with a mile to go before Paul found one last burst of speed to win the race by 2 minutes.  Final time 4H 5mins his second best ever.
