Story
Coming to you this summer. Please take the time to read up on this upcoming charity push brought to you by ryde fire station
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 22nd and 23rd of August fire fighters from Ryde Fire Station will be embarking on their latest charity adventure. Taking place in Western Gardens, Ryde, at the bottom of Union Street, firefighters will be taking part in a 24 hour endurance event; I’m A Fire Fighter, Get Me Out Of Here!
Throughout the 24 hours you will be able to watch 2 teams of firefighters compete against one another by undertaking gruelling challenges. This will range from physical and mental based, to having their taste buds tortured by some of the delightful foods we have lined up for them. Firefighters will be enclosed into a small caged area, which will then be divided into 2 halves. One team will experience the half of privilege and comfort, whilst the other team will be left with the other half, forcing them to endure poor hospitality with only the hope that they may get the opportunity to take their rivals home and force them into the other side.
You will get the opportunity to come down and meet the local firefighters and then have a say on who will take part in what challenge. Your support will decide the outcome of the event as the inevitable conclusion will be when one individual gets crowned King or queen of the Firefighters jungle.
Between our event and online donations, we are aiming to raise a total of £5000, which will be injected into a wider fundraising initiative that aims to raise a total of £50 000. This event staged by Ryde Fire Station is a part of a wider fundraising initiative known as ‘100 Here 100 There’ (www.iow100.com) and enables us to raise much needed funds for this year’s selected charities;
· Wessex Cancer Trust
· Alzheimers Care UK
· Cruse Bereavement Care
· Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus
· Parkinsons UK
· Families of Ocean Ward
Finally, please follow our event on Facebook @ I’m a firefighter Get me out of Here or twitter @ #Rydefire2015. Alternatively you can make an early donation on our just giving page @ www.justgiving.com/imafirefightergetmeoutofhere.
This event is sure to be one to remember and one you’ve never seen before, so running between 5pm to 5pm on the 22nd and 23rd this summer please come by Western Gardens and show your support.
Take care, and as always, stay safe.
