Flying Angels Ride 2014 · 25 May 2014

Founded in 1856 and funded entirely by voluntary donations, The Mission to Seafarers offers emergency assistance and support to crews around the world. Whether victims of piracy or those shipwrecked or stranded, we’re there for the globe’s merchant seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs.

Story

A big thank you to all our supporters, who have helped us raise over £5,000 for the Mission to Seafarers. The ride itself is this Sunday - let's hope the weather is favorable....

The team consists of:

Lee Adamson, Milton Barón, Christine Billings, Bruce Black, Aubrey Botsford, Olivier Busson, Patricia Charlebois, Mark Combe, Astrid Diespert, Edmund Hughes, Ingrid López, John Mitchell, Sanjay Mondal, Tamara Vassilissin and Andy Winbow.

Piracy, shipwreck, abandonment and separation from loved ones are just a few of the problems merchant seafarers face - as they always have. Today, they may also face arbitrary imprisonment and long periods without shore leave because of immigration and security fears. Around the world, the Mission to Seafarers (www.missiontoseafarers.org) provides help and support to the 1.2 million men and women who face loneliness, discomfort and danger every day to keep our global economy afloat.
