Story
Hello and thank you for visiting our Justgiving Page.
In Memory of Antony Payne (Tony) ❤️ we are running the Belfast Marathon Relay on 7th May 2018 to raise funds for Friends of the Cancer Centre. The relay team participants are Tony’s daughters Gemma, Laura and Katrina, his sister Gillian and niece Sarah. Tony's wife Paula and friends will also be undertaking the 8mile walk.
Friends of the Cancer Centre is the charity affiliated with Northern Ireland's Cancer Centre based in the City Hospital, Belfast. The charity provides invaluable support to cancer patients and their families. You can find out more about the services which they provide below: https://www.friendsofthecancercentre.com
In November 2017 our beloved father was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer at just 64 years old. The news was completely unexpected and devastating for all of us. Dad bravely faced the diagnosis with his characteristic positivity, humour, and strength of mind. Sadly however Dad’s cancer became too aggressive and he lost his fight on 28th February 2018, just a few short months
after his diagnosis.
During his treatment, our father and family spent a significant
amount of time in the Cancer Centre. While this was an extremely difficult time, support from Friends of the Cancer Centre including access to a very well equipped private room for Dad, family room and camp beds, enabled us as a family to be together and to support our father as much as possible. We are incredibly grateful to Friends of the Cancer Centre for this and for all of the other good work that they do.
All of your donations, big or small are truly appreciated to provide support for this indispensable and worthwhile charity.
Thank you for reading.
