Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit out JustGiving page in Memory of Eric Grimes.

As many of you will know, Dad has always loved his Dogs.

As a family, our first dog was 'William', a beautiful English Setter. I remember going with Mum to pick him up and hold him on my knee for the journey home. As puppies they need frequent toilet breaks and the journey home was just a little too far.

Some years later. Dad took in a stray dog.  He named her ‘Ginnie’ (after Gin & Tonic’ - one of his favourite drinks. Dad made a bed for her in the greenhouse and gave her food and water. Within a couple of days she was part of the family with William.

My parents' last dog was ‘Sam’, a Black Lab/Golden Retriever cross     so jet black with long haired. Dad retired shortly after they got Sam and spent many a joyful hour walking with Sam and Mum.

In memory of Eric, we’d like to invite those that wish to, to make a modest contribution to a local Charity, Stokenchurch Dog Rescue.

About the charity

Stokenchurch dog rescue was originally formed by local residents in 1963 to save the lives of stray and unwanted dogs. We never destroy a healthy dog, believing that somewhere there is a kind and permanent home for every dog. We also take in and care for the sick, the old and the traumatised.
