Story
Thank you for visiting our Just Giving page, in memory of Francis Okine, who died suddenly, and far too young, on 29th January 2021.
Crisis was very dear to Francis’ heart, and for over fifteen years he gave up his Christmas to collect homeless guests and drive them to the London Skylight centre where they could receive help, support and companionship, as well as the Christmas dinner that most of us take for granted. You only had to meet Francis once to appreciate how kind, generous and compassionate he was, and his involvement with Crisis is testament to that. He gave his time and skills to help people in desperate need of the most basic requirements of life, and for people whose lives had hit rock bottom, his cheerful smile, engaging manner, and complete lack of judgement must have felt like a ray of sunshine after the constant stress of trying to survive on the streets.
Francis’ volunteer work with Crisis is just one of the many things cut short by his shocking and untimely death, but the misery and injustice of homelessness goes on, and if you would like to donate to Crisis in his memory, your contribution will enable more people to be able to access the help that they need to live in safety and dignity, and with real hope for the future.
Thank you so much.
