Row Hard for Neuro-disability · 15 September 2010 ·

The RHN cares for people who have brain damage or a disease affecting their brain. People come to the RHN for many reasons, from a stroke to a traffic accident, or a disease. The RHN provides services and therapies to ensure people with neuro-disability can have the best quality of life possible.

Story

On September 15th 2010, four foolhardy rowers from Investec Asset Management are taking part in a new and exciting City Fundraiser… “Row Hard for Neuro-disability”. These brave ergo-warriors are Bradley George, Ed Lucas, Mark Evans, and Rodger Kennedy. They will be managed by Omar "The Cap'n" Elhag who will be there to provide emotional support to his coxless four.

The team will row 2000m against many other city workers and – help! – Olympic athletes, on the decks of the HMS Belfast, overlooking and the . We are raising money for a very worthy cause; the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability in Putney, which is a national medical charity caring for over 240 of the UK’s most profoundly disabled individuals. The residents and patients at the RHN suffer from a variety of complex and life-changing neurological disabilities (from accidents or disease) but under the care of expert staff and therapists they regain valuable skills such as walking, talking, reading and writing, which in turn lead to increased independence, well-being and choice.

The RHN needs to raise over £2million each year to continue doing what it does best, and by taking part in this event we are helping them to do this – I hope you will help us too!

Please give generously (our team target is £600) and come to watch on the day; it’s only £20 for admittance onto the ship, including food and a drink, with a cash bar and entertainment on offer afterwards.

Please feel free to forward this on to friends and family. The more we can raise, the more of a difference we can make.

Thank you for your support.
