I will be running in the Oxford half marathon this Sunday, and doing so for the Oxford Sexual Abuse & Rape Crisis Centre (OSARCC). OSARCC provides information, advocacy, counselling and general support to survivors of sexual assault. Supporting survivors of sexual assault and abuse is nothing short of essential. Yet if you've read the news in the last year you may have noticed that the justice system has yet to recognise this need in a material and tangible way, which makes the work of organisations such as OSARCC all the more important for survivors seeking help. 

Those working at places like OSARCC are stepping up to the plate but they, themselves, need our help. Let's give them a hand, or a fiver (or more)? Or two painful hours of my life?

What's that? The half marathon is in five days you say? Meh, better late than never...

I've been planning to run the Half Marathon in nice (flat) Oxford for two years now. Last year I got overexcited running and my knee didn't approve. This year I got even more excited and went cliff-jumping (not joking) and my back didn't approve. However, after some hardcore neurofen I'm finally back in business (hence the rather last minute page) and am determined to run (wing) 13 miles on Sunday.
