The purpose of the Fun Run is to raise funds as part of our IB Service and Action Initiative.
Service and Action is a structured learning experience that combines community service with explicit learning objectives of investigating, planning, taking action, reflecting and demonstrating. It is uniquely aligned with our vision, mission and core values, along with curriculum being taught in the classroom.
The ‘’Service’’ program at the MY Campus aims to foster, develop and motivate the students to become aware of the needs of the global community. Giving students the opportunity to take what they are learning in the classroom and put it into action through a commitment: making a positive difference to the lives of others and the environment. Students are encouraged to engage in authentic activities that create a lasting impact on a community.
Our Law students are currently learning about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Business & Economic students are learning about Developing Economies. They are exploring the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on universal human rights as well as on developing economies. In addition, the Science students will be looking into global health issues during Term 2.
The funds raised during this event will go towards the MSF Camp in Ukraine. There is currently a desperate need and as we, as a Rivercrest Community, would like to make a contribution in this regard.
Apart from the above, our students are looking forward to developing their IB learner profile attributes of caring and being reflective.
We thank you for supporting our cause.
