It's really hard to summarise the actions of The British Red Cross in a paragraph, but here goes.. They are the largest humanitarian network in the world and their underlying principle is to try to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it be found. The Red Cross embem is symbol of neutral protection, especially during armed conflict. In the UK alone they have over 35,000 volunteers working in the community. They respond to emergencies and provide first aid and training, help vulnerable people at home and lend medical equipment to patients leaving hospital. Across the world the Red Cross help commuities to cope following conflict and disaster and help reunite families torn apart by conflict. 

Raising money for the Red Cross will help vulnerable people in need. £2 will pay for a food parcel for someone in Africa living with HIV/AIDS. £10 Pays for a first aid kit used in an emergency by a Red Cross volunteer. £100 will pay for a tent for a family displaced in conflict or disaster and £200 will pay for a wheelchair to loan someone with a disability or illness
