Great North Run 2015 · 13 September 2015 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As I am sure you are all aware my family lost one of the most treasured women ever to walk this earth in 2013. My nana was absolutely everything to every member of her family and was loved and cherished by so many more. During her time in hospital she was nursed by so many, but the last few weeks of her life were spent in St Johns Hospice, and unfortunately they are struggling with finding the money to stay open, and after the compassion and care they gave our whole family, it's time to try and give something back.
I managed to raise over £500 last year for Movemeber going towards Cancer Research, and that was just growing a tash, you all donated so generously, but as you are all aware, I am far from athletic and struggle to run, so what better idea than run over 13 miles. I can just hear her now saying "eeeee son you'll never do it!". I doubt myself, I haven't even started training yet! I would appreciate any money you can donate, wether it be £1, £5 or £10, anything you give will be a massive help and mean so much to our family and the hospice. Anyone who met my nana will know she would always go out of her way to do something for someone and go without if it meant someone else gained, this is our chance to give something back which means so much to us all. You'll never be forgotten nana, we miss you every day. You were my hero, my inspiration and my everything, not a day goes by where I don't miss you and wish I could see you or hear your voice one more time. We will meet again one day, and remember "great strength comes from faith within" Stay strong nana, forever my hero.
