Cancer, cancer is a terrible. In 2014 alone cancer killed around 858,750 people worldwide, thats around 1,600 per day. Here are some facts about cancer:

• Cancer is a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells. ​There are over 100 types of cancer. And any part of the body can be affected.
• In 2012 there were approximately 13.7 million Americans with a history of cancer alive.
• Over 2 million skin cancers are diagnosed every year – many of those could be prevented by taking necessary precautions. (i.e. protecting skin from excessive sun exposure and avoiding indoor tanning.)
• Anyone can develop cancer, however, the risk of getting it increases with age. Most cases occur in middle-aged adults or older. About 77% of all cancers are diagnosed in people 55-years or older.
• Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the U.S. It accounts for nearly 1 in 4 deaths. 
  

There is no cure for cancer, despite the high percentage pf people who have, and will get it. Imagine if there was a cure the amount of deaths would drop; the amount of life's that would be saved is virtually limitless.

That is where your money will go, by donating to Cancer Research UK you will be actively funding the research of cancer. The more research that is done in to cancer, then the faster a cure will be found. It may seem like your money goes no where, and that we are no closer to finding a cure; but we are! Without any research in to cancer there wouldn't be any treatment at all.
