Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
The Event.
On 1st October 2011 I will be doing a full 26.2 mile Marathon around London at night to raise money for Cancer Research... specifically Bowel Cancer.
The Cause
I have opted for the money I raise to be allocated specifically to Bowel Cancer. Bowel Cancer is diagnosed in about 38,600 people in the UK every year, that's over 100 per day. Thanks to improved treatment and earlier detection, five year survival rates for Bowel Cancer have doubled over the last 30 years.
Many of you will know that this has been quite close to home this year and I am keen to raise as much as possible for this worthy cause.
What Is Shine?
Shine is Cancer Research UK’s night-time walking marathon. We use light as a symbol of hope and the progress we are making in the fight against cancer.
Donating.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
