Story
As promised, have replaced the photo of my sweet niece with one of me running over the finish line (though I'm not sure why I kept running once I'd passed the line...).
=====
Done it. 4 hours 47 minutes. Beautiful. I beat the Masai but not the cornish pasty, who left me for dust at mile 18. I'll replace the photo with proof in a couple of days.
Thank you all very much for supporting Tess. She says thank you. I'm off for a massage and a hot bath (and to hunt down that pasty).
=====
It was a good idea: get fit, raise money to help my niece, tick another box...but the reality is dawning on me: I'm running the London Marathon. Aaaarrrggh. Not cool. The torment of it has driven me to grow a (wispy) beard.
I'm running for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust which is trying to find a cure for a life-threatening disease that affects my niece Tess (next door to me in the photo) and over 8,000 people in the UK.
Thank you
Jack
