Event: Delhi to Mumbai - Cycle Ride
We support Unique Home to raise unwanted abandoned girls with love

Story

I am set to ride 1450 kms+ on the 16th of December 2017 from Delhi to Mumbai. I'll be very honest, I am doing this for myself, I want to be an example to all those who give up before they start. Many give up when they fear challenges without event trying. I was and in some cases still one of those people. When I heard of this ride, I was told by many that its impossible and only the elite athletes can complete this.

There is only one way to find out right? YES! I am going to find out for myself. At the same time I will dedicate this goal to my favourite organisation the Unique Home for Girls. Doing this ride in the name of the home will give me the motivation I will need.

I am training hard and will give it everything I have and I need your best wishes.

About the Home:

Unique Home for Girls is a home for unwanted, abandoned girls in Jalandhar, India. Established by Bibi Parkash Kaur in 1993, the home has one simple aim: to give these abandoned girls back their lives through education and most importantly love.

The Unique home for Girls Jalandhar (Punjab) is an organisation very close to my heart.

I remember the very first time I visited, I really didnt know what to expect.

I was expecting this to be just another charity which collect money and keep a large percentage, giving just a small amount to the people who actually need it.

I was wrong. I didnt realise that this visit would change my perspective on life. I had no idea that by the time I had visited I would have changed the way I do things, the appreciation, gratutude and many other things this visit would give me.

I also realised that charity wasnt just about donating money. It was much deeper than that.

The love and affection that the team at the home give these angels cannot be bought with money. It comes from the heart.

There are girls who are just days old all the way to young adults and beyond who live here.

The home has given these amazing girls a second chance at life.

So many thoughts cross my mind whenever I visit. How can someone abandon their child? Because of gender? financial circumstances?

I would hate to imagine the circumstances. No child deserves to be abandoned.

No child should be denied the love and affection they deserve growing up, every child should have access to good education.

These children will never know who their parents were. No idea of religion or background. This made me realise that it doesnt matter. All that matters is that they are in good hands now. The best religion is humanity.

We take a lot of things for granted in life and sometimes forget that there are many people in this world who are less fortunate with things even money cannot buy.

I am proud to do the little I can to show my support to the home and would really appreciate if you would too by either sharing this page to create awareness for the home or by donating anything you feel comfortable with.

Thank You for reading and thank you in advance for your support.
