Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Dear friends,
As many of you know it has been a very tough time for my family and me. I can tell you that from personal experience there are vast strides to be made in the treatment and diagnosis of this disease. Every donation will make an impact! Thank you for any donations you may give, but also for all the support and care you have given my family.
Unfortunately, someone very close to me was diagnosed with ovarian cancer earlier this year. When I heard this terrible news I was deeply upset and wanted to help in some way, but because I had planned an extensive trip around the world from January to June, there was no conceavable way of doing so. Now that I have returned from my travels, I can finally do something!
Dan and I have decided to run in the Sony Ericson 'Run to the Beat' half marathon to raise money for Cancer Research UK. All proceeds raised from our run will go specifically to researching ways of preventing ovarian cancer and discovering ways of improving the lives of women who are suffering from it now.
Many people have asked us why we're not
running a full marathon. We would, except the London marathon isn't
until April so this is the closest we can get. Still 13.1 miles isn't
nothing!
It would mean a lot to us if you could make a donation, however small, and help raise money for this worthy cause. About 6,800 women in the UK are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year.and we know they too would be grateful for your support.
If you would like to gain a full understanding of what ovarian cancer is and how it affects women's lives please visit the page below:
