Every day 29,000 people in Birmingham live with sight loss. We support people with visual impairments and other disabilities, together with their carers, to live fulfilling and independent lives by providing services that reflect their wants and needs.

The team at Chase Zander is facing the challenge of their year as they gear up to complete the Forest of Dean challenge.

The Chase Zander team are usually found either at their desks on the phone or out to client and candidate meetings, but on the 24th July 2009 they will be swapping their office suits for waterproofs, hardhats and walking boots as they navigate their way through the Forest of Dean by trekking, canoeing, climbing and abseiling – blind folded!!!  For some these activities are going to be a real challenge, especially one team member who cannot swim!  We’ll be testing team work, fitness, skill and shear bravery to complete the gruelling 8 hour course and are camping out the night before and after in the forest which is known to be haunted!!  All of this is in aid of their annual charity day and this year Chase Zander is supporting a local charity - FOCUS Birmingham who provide advice, support and care services to individuals with a visual impairment, physical and learning disabilities.

There is a decent chance of another Gittins injury being caused during this activity, so it's got be worth a few quid in donations? Please sponsor me!!

The challenge will all be worthwhile for Chase Zander if they succeed in raising £2,500 for FOCUS Birmingham Charity.

Chase Zander are relying on support from their candidates, clients and friends and family to raise the much needed donations that will make this year’s charity event a massive success and FOCUS Birmingham rely on donations as the life blood of their worthwhile organisation that makes such a positive difference to the lives of many.

As you can imagine sight loss is a frightening and traumatic experience that affects almost every aspect of a person’s life!  By supporting Chase Zander, you help enable FOCUS to continue with their current services, whilst also supporting the development of new projects, such as Abilityworks, which is helping people enter the employment market and Wayfinder, which helps people travel around the City independently.

Sponsoring James is easy through Just Giving, you can pay by credit or debit card, and the money will go directly to FOCUS Birmingham. Where supporters are UK taxpayers, the charity will automatically receive 28% extra in Gift Aid, which makes Justgiving the most efficient way of sponsoring Chase Zander.
