Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm volunteering to coach cricket in Kenya for two weeks starting on the 21st October 2011. I have been given a target of raising £750 to provide coaching kit and resources to leave behind during the trip.

I have personally paid for my own flights so this isn't one of the charity "experiences" where you are paying for me to go. All money raised goes directly to the charity.

CWB has three main goals:

  • To spread cricket through coaching children and teaching adults how to coach; and
  • To link the sport to HIV/AIDS awareness and incorporate these messages into coaching sessions.
  • To bring together and empower local communities through cricket.

Working in partnership with the Cricket Associations in each country, the relevant British High Commissions and the ICC, we follow a simple, 3 stage, sports development structure to try to ensure some form of sustained development of the game: 1) coach education; 2) Schools coaching, and 3) Tournament.

Once again thank you very much!
