In August of this year Lesley, Jan and I will be attempting the Hadrian’s Wall Coast to Coast ride – all 151 miles!  We are starting on Thursday, 14 August in Whitehaven and cycling over three days to South Shields, Newcastle.  

This is in memory of the most amazing man that I had the privilege to call my husband, a devoted dad, grandad and a friend to many.

As many of you will be aware, I had hoped to donate my non matched kidney to Doug in January of this year but it was not to be and my darling Doug died on the 13 May aged just 54. We learnt about non matched donation very late in Doug's illness and I can't help but wonder if we had known earlier would the outcome be different and so we would like with your help to raise some money for the National Kidney Federation who support patients and raise awareness of renal failure.
