Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Let me explain to you why The Sick Children’s Trust is close to my family's heart - better still I'm going to ask my son Charlie aged 8 to explain in his own words why this means so much to all of us.

"Last Christmas my sister, Olivia who is 6 years old, was very ill and was in hospital for nearly 2 weeks. She needed an operation to help her get better. She stayed in The Royal London hospital which is a good hospital but it is a long way from our house. My Mum had to stay with my sister and a charity called The Sick Children’s Trust which has a house near the hospital said my Mum could stay in one of their rooms until my sister was better.

Whilst my sister was in hospital I wasn’t allowed to visit her because they needed to stop any more infections being passed on. I missed my Mum but the best bit was that I was allowed to stay at The Sick Children’s Trust house with my Mum and Dad and have a sleepover with them one night.

The Sick Children’s Trust is a great place for families as they can be together. They say that families need love and support to help their sick children get better. They have 7 houses in the UK and need generous donations to keep them going. There are 3 houses in London, 2 at Great Ormond Street hospital and one at The Royal London hospital.

I think that our family and friends should help us support The Sick Children’s Trust because together we are very good at raising money and we can help families like us be together if we are ever sick and in hospital.

I told my school, Kew College, about The Sick Children’s Trust and they chose it as their charity for the year. The money from my Mum’s big jump will be added to the school’s money so we have lots to give them.

Let me tell you how the money we raise could be spent. If we raised £1,200 we could furnish a new bedroom in a house. If we raised £9,000 we could sponsor a room in a house for a whole year so lots of families could be together. There would be a sign outside the room saying that this room is paid for by Kew College. People staying there would know that we really cared about their families too.

Thank you for reading our story.”
