Wow - thanks for finding me I could really use your support!!

Did you realise that £10 can buy a blanket for a dog or cat to keep them warm in their kennel?  Or that £24 could pay to look after a dog for one day to keep them safe, warm and well fed?

Nope?  Neither did I ..... but if you sponsor me that could be where your money goes.......

I don t have a dog or cat but my mum did.  "Danny Dog" was a Battersea Rescue Dog (look at the photo) who was loyal and faithful companion.  Yes, my mum loved him to bits but I also owed him a debt of gratitude too.  Why?  One day whilst walking in the local country park with Mum, Son - Jack (5) and daughter- Annie (2) a rather nasty looking Alsatian (off lead) approached Annie snarling. Despite being half his size Danny Dog bravely jumped between them shielding my daughter.  Unfortunately, receiving a nasty bite in the neck (8 stiches worth!) before the Alsatian's mortified owner pulled him off Danny.

 

So when I am plodding (or as Jack says "waddling") through my training runs in the cold & dark January mornings and I am struggling through the latter half of the marathon in April - I will remember the £10 blankets and the courage of our Ex-Battersea Danny Dog - and I will "waddle" TO THE END............
