Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page which was set up by my Mum for my sponsored walk.
My name is Jasmine Witt and I am 15 years old and I am doing a sponsored walk for Cambridge Cats Protection from CRC to Swavesey and back along the guided bus route which will be approximately 16 miles in total.
I am doing this to raise money for the Cambridge branch of Cats Protection to help towards the cost of looking after the cats in their care. My mum is a fosterer and we have a pen in our garden which houses some of the cats that need a new home. Cats come into Cats Protection care for lots of different reasons.
Some cats that come into our pen have had a particularly bad time, like Truffle and Revel who lived in a cage open to the elements with no freedom to roam before they were taken into Cats Protection care. They came into my mum's pen very scared, with urine burns on their paws, and toys scared them as they had no idea how to play like normal cats. A lovely family adopted Truffle and Revel and gave them a warm safe environment. It was a slow process getting them to adjust to living in a normal home, where they were unfamiliar with carpets, furniture and family noise. Now they are flourishing and venturing outdoors thanks to the care they received at Cats Protection and the patience of their forever owners.
All the volunteers at Cambridge Cats Protection work very hard for no pay. Their reward is to see the cats homed to loving families. The money I'm raising with my sponsored walk is to help with the costs of looking after cats like Truffle and Revel until homes can be found.
