RE: George Bould 12 years old- Wilms Tumour and (Relapse)

George is a special young man that has been given a tough start in life at the age of 6 years old..

On the 21st February 2013 our son George was 6 nearly 7 years old and started complaining about a pain in his abdomen we took him to stoke A/E where we were told George had a suspected Wilms Tumour and he would need to go to Birmingham's Children's hospital for a biopsy and a central line. This crushed our small family and is the worst thing in the world to happen.

On the 10th April 2013George underwent A 5 hour operation and 8 months of chemotherapy plus radiotherapy in Birmingham. George visited Lapland that December through make a wish foundation. We were optimistic that our boy would recover and lead a normal life again and he did until the 13th  June 2014

(Relapse) June 2014

George complained about a pain in his groin area. We thought it was probably a strain as George was active going to school and playing football also attending Stoke Taekwondo. George's  pain was our worst fears and it was confirmed that the cruel Disease had returned.  Myself and were distraught knowing that are brave son would have to go through it all again. This time we were told it would be harder and more intense making George more poorly and damaging him even more.

On 20th June our son  George had an operation to fit a central line in Birmingham children’s hospital then he would start chemotherapy  ASAP. George underwent another 5 hour operation in Birmingham on the 27th September to remove the Tumour. We are due anytime soon for the radiotherapy to start at the QE in Birmingham. We attended an appointment on 12th January to meet with the doctors that decide about George's radiotherapy which would start on 16th Februaryfor 20 sessions and this while having high risk chemotherapy.  George suffered from radiotherapy burns an excruciating pain he spent three weeks off his feet. Our boy is the most special thing in the world.

Caudwell Children’s destination dreams took George to Florida in 2015 this was a once in a life time experience at a time George needed a break and they have kept in touch ever since.
