Story
Hi All
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running in this years London Marathon and have chosen to run for St Mary's Hospital Neonatal department in Manchester and here's why I have chosen this charity
Recently I met Frida a very special little girl, full of giggles, with the most radiant smile and beautiful character.
Frida was born 26 weeks premature weighing just 2lbs she was small enough to rest in the palm of her fathers hand. This little fighter spent 6 weeks in intensive care and a further 6 on a high dependancy ward. During this difficult time she was on 24 hour, one nurse one baby care.
Those first few weeks were pretty heart wrenching for Mum and Dad, unlike many new parents they didn't have the joy of taking baby straight home. For weeks they had to visit their daughter in the hospital.
Jo (Mum) has been fundraising for the hospital since Frida arrived in the world and the money raised has been used to create a supportive environment for Parents with premature babies to visit. Special overnight rooms, so Mum can stay over, family rooms where Mum and Dad can relax and much used facilities for older siblings to new baby.
Mum Jo introduced Frida to me last month, she melted my heart
Little Frida turns four on the 17th April just a few days after the Marathon, so please if just 250 of you pledged just £2 (the same as her birth weight) I would reach the target and give this worthwhile charity and early easter present.
