Story
About 2 years ago my life changed after suffering a nervous breakdown and being diagnosed with depression. I had been told that running was a good combat for this so that's what I did! I struggled to communicate with people so instead pounded the streets with my ipod.
Being someone who has always set ambitious goals for myself, I did my first ever half marathon last year and so set about preparing for a marathon. Chris' brilliant idea of getting me a running watch for Christmas has provided plenty of entertainment and encouragement over the last 4 months as I could see my running distances improving.
Running for Marie Curie was the natural thing to do as I have supported them for a number of years.
We don't have to look far to know of loved ones who've lost their battle to cancer and those survivors with whom we can celebrate. I've listened to stories of how Marie Curie have nursed their loved ones and helped the family to still be able to laugh and smile through dark times.
I am running the Greater Manchester marathon for everyone out there who has been touched by cancer in some way.
