Story
I don't speak about it that much but in 2006, shortly before my 16th birthday, I lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer after a short illness. He was a fit and healthy guy who was really into his cycling and although I never really got into that sport, the sense of remaining fit and active still continues in both me and my brother.
I have jogged as a hobby for several years but it has only been recently that I've started to take things seriously and last year I decided to sign up for my first ever marathon - the one in Brighton where I have spent many a summer as a child (and adult) visiting family, the race is on 12th April 2015 so it's fast approaching and I'm in the midst of building up on my training!
I know more than most that cancer is a disease that affects many people in many different ways (my Mum underwent treatment for breast cancer in 2007 too), but because pancreatic cancer is among those with the lowest survival rate and also one of the lesser known forms of the disease I'm going to raise money for them in the hope that one day it can be beaten.
