We're running the London Marathon in 2023 in aid of Kidney Research UK.

Jen's brother Pete has suffered from kidney disease from a young age. Since he first experienced kidney failure of the age of 20, he has needed three transplants, with gruelling periods of life-saving dialysis in between.

If it weren't for the advances in research over the past 13 years since Pete’s diagnosis, he wouldn't have been able to receive the transplants and improvements in treatment that make him healthy today. His most recent transplant was in September 2021, and pioneering research means he’s now having treatment which should mean that this kidney will last for a long time. This is thanks to essential funding for Kidney Research UK.

Pete’s now had three of our available spare family kidneys! But there are currently thousands of people in the UK in need of a kidney transplant. Most of us can live perfectly well with only one kidney, and yet nearly all of us have two.
