Jurassic 100K · 19 May 2017
As group leader each year I like to compete in some races before we travel to Lourdes, this enables us to raise more money to take more children there each year.
On Friday 19th May at 10pm I plan to walk/jog/run the Jurassic 100K, this will be a tough event for me. Suzanne Rampersad and Debbie Marriott will be doing the event too.
The race is about 60 miles from Weymouth to Exmouth along the Southwest coast path, we have to complete it within 24 hours. This is probably the hardest race that I have ever done, it is certainly the furthest I have ever walked in one day.
My challenge is going to be hard as to date I have never run this far over a tough terrain, and the race will be difficult but my challenge is small compared to the day to day difficulties faced by the children we take with our group.
My main concern apart from the distance is staying awake for 24 hours, anyone who knows me will know this will be tough for me.
Dave Rampersad will be running it he has to complete it in 16 hours!
Every penny raised will change the children’s lives. The pilgrimage to Lourdes increases confidence, gives hope and strength to children who face difficulties every day of their lives.
Please support me every penny can help change a life.
