Story

Cumbria Community Foundation is a charity which helps people and organisations make a difference to the most disadvantaged people in our community by making grants to local charities and people in need.  With the support of our donors we have made grants totalling over £16m since inception in 1999.

The Second Annual JENNINGS RIVERS RIDE – a Cycle Sportive – takes place on Sunday 16th September 2012.

Cycling for a Reason

The Jennings Rivers Ride is held to raise money for Cumbria Community Foundation.

The Rivers Ride reveals some of the UK’s finest scenery and cycling terrain from the heart of the Lake District all the way out to the Irish Sea.  It’s actually a series of three bike rides which start and finish in Keswick. It’s called the Rivers Ride because sections of the routes follow the affected river courses and criss-cross over many of the bridges that were either destroyed and replaced, or were badly damaged during the floods in 2009.
