Itex Jersey 2013 walk · 22 June 2013
On Saturday 22 June 2013 a team of 7 middle aged men are taking part in the Itex Jersey Walk which is a 48 mile walk around the island of Jersey.
The team for 2013 are Kevin Pepper, Tom O'Shea, JP Albin, Neil "C" Miller, Dev Malhotra, Mark Lilly and Neil Narayanen.
It starts at 3am and we're aiming to complete the walk well before last orders (http://www.itexwalk.je/)
Also, Clare Miller and Karen Linn are taking part in the Nijmegen Marches In Holland on 15-18 July. They will be walking 40km a day covering a total of 160km along with some 45,000 others in a huge organised annual event. Clare and Karen have been training every 2nd weekend since January and putting in the miles through true Scottish weather.
Why sign up for this madness you may ask? Kevin's son, Joe Pepper, has a condition called choroideremia which is a rare inherited eye disorder that causes progressive sight loss. We're raising money to help fund researchers at Imperial College London who are investigating potential treatments for choroideremia. You can find out more about Joe's condition at http://www.trekforjoe.blogspot.co.uk/p/joes-condition.html and can follow us on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/jersey_old_boys #jersey_old_boys
